Will there be anyone else on my tour?

Definitely not. Our tours are customized and private. So if you have booked a private tour it is for you and you alone. You will have the guide to yourself and can rely on him or her to give you their undivided attention.

Are you private tours suitable for the disabled?

Absolutely yes! So long as you let us know in advance of any difficulties you may have we'll make sure  your tour is organized so that you don't have to worry about too much walking. Most museums and art galleries in Milan make at least two wheelchairs available and most places are wheelchair accessible. Our guides are all sensitive to the different problems everyone may face and will make sure your requirements are catered for.

How do I book and pay?

Basically, you just e-mail us using our Contacts form outlining what kind of tour you'd like. We'll prepare it for you and send you our quotation. Once you accept we arrange the meeting with your guide at a designated meeting point. We usually request advance payment of Last Supper tickets, museum entrances and any out-of-city transportation costs. The balance is usually made in cash to your guide upon issuance of a receipt. 

What about extra costs - transportation, museums, food and drink?

Public transport

a day ticket that allows you unlimited access to Milan's outstanding public transport is €4.50 and you can pay in cash or by credit card.

Taxis

if you want a bit more comfort, your guide will meet you at a designated meeting point, usually your hotel, and together you'll start your trip into central Milan by taxi. Or you can ask your hotel to arrange a taxi to pick you up and meet your guide at a central location, for example the Duomo. But honestly, Milan's not a huge city so if you are staying somewhere just outside the centre, the journey will be around €15.

Chauffeur-driven car

if you would like the luxury of a private car, we'll quote you and you can pay the driver directly either in cash or by credit card.

Meals

we love sharing the city's best culinary experiences with our visitors, whether it's a quick plate of perfect pasta with a glass of local wine or a gourmet meal. Prices can obviously vary considerably here. You should calculate a minimum of €15 upwards for a light lunch. Most places will accept credit cards but a little cash is probably handy.

Last Supper tickets

by the way the official price for one of the Renaissance's greatest masterpieces is a mere €12. Now that explains why it's so difficult to bag them! Normally they are put on sale 3 months in advance and sell out within a couple of hours, especially from April to October. That's why it's essential you let us know as soon as possible if you want them. We'll do our best to snag them from the officially licenced retailer but if this is not possible we'll buy them from a tour operator (not our favourite option of course). Because they charge a mark-up we'll let you choose beforehand if you want us to go ahead. But once you've got your tickets you are guaranteed entrance at a set time with your guide and without having to queue.

Almost every other museum is stress-free, costs €10 or less and can be paid for by credit card.

Tickets to La Scala

depending on the time of year and the performance these can range from around €50 to much more. To procure these we would kindly ask you to pay in advance by bank transfer upon receiving our quote.  

Getting into the Duomo?

The city's magnificent cathedral is still a place of worship and is open to individuals for this purpose at no charge. However, groups of four people or more require pre-booking by your tour guide. The cost is €2 per person and with large groups we also provide headsets at €2 per person through which your guide will be able to tell you all the secrets behind the splendid marble façade. This gives you a timed entrance using the faster queue, which is rarely more than 15 minutes.

Can I go to the rooftop of the Duomo?

Of course, so long as you have a head for heights. Needs must our guides have conquered any fear of theirs! On a clear day, the view can be breathtaking and sometimes you'll be able to see the Alps. The lift to take you straight to the top is €13. But there are one or two other places from which you can admire Milan from on high.
